It was 1849 in Paris... and Pauline Moynat had a most unusual career, especially for a woman... She made trunks! At the time, there were no suitcases, when traveling... you took a trunk. And travel was reserved who those could afford such a luxury in the mid-19th century. Ms Moynat must have been very clever, with her innovations, she made lighter and "water-resistant" trunks.
Pauline Moynat was the only woman, creating trunks for travel in Paris during her time. She understood the how luggage impacts travel and the necessity of protecting garments in trunks. She designed trunks to maximise space and efficiency.
